Take M74 until it Joins M8 and head for Glasgow.
Keep on M8 until jcn 30 for Erskine bridge.
Cross over the Erskine Bridge (60p Toll) and
take the A82 first left off the bridge (signposted
to Crianlarich) as far as Balloch. (bottom of
Loch Lomond about 30 minutes from Rowardennan.)
When you get to the Stoneymolan roundabout at
the beginning of Balloch take the last exit,
A811 signposted to Stirling follow the road
for about 10 miles until you come to Drymen.
Turn left to Drymen, pass the Buchannan Arms
Hotel on the right and when you see ‘The
Hawthorns’ bed and breakfast turn left.
(Road signposted to Balmaha). Rowardennan is
about 10 miles from here. The road gradually
get narrower as you get nearer to the loch.
After you have driven through Balmaha there
is a very steep hill on the bend carry on along
the narrow road and you will pass Millarochy
Bay car park on the left and then the camping
and caravan club site. Pass this site and Cashel
Campsite about one mile from here on the left.
Carry on for about 4 miles until the road ends
at Rowardennan Hotel.
The entrance to the log cabins is just before
the hotel car park but there is a security barrier
so on arrival drive your car into the hotel
car park and open the gate into the grounds.
Number 19 is left through the security barrier
then on the right hand side as you cross over
the bridge at the river. |
